COVID and Flu (Respiratory Illness)

This chart includes the “most common” signs and symptoms of the listed respiratory illnesses and is not inclusive of all respiratory illnesses.  Diagnosis of a respiratory illness or condition should be provided by your Primary Care Provider.

Vaccination is available for respiratory illnesses such as COVID, Influenza, and Pertussis. There is no vaccine for the common cold.

Free COVID test kits can be obtained at Test and Go Kiosks located at our offices in Three Rivers and Strugis. There are also machines at Covered Bridge Health Care in Centreville or The Goodwill Plaza in Coldwater. To obtain a free test kit from a kiosk, you can walk up to the machine and scan the QR code on the unit, or pre-register by going to register3.testandgo.com where you will enter your information and receive a QR code to scan at the machine.  

Local libraries including, all locations of the Branch District Library (Algansee, Bronson, Coldwater, Quincy, Sherwood, and Union Township), Jonesville District Library, Litchfield Library, Nottawa Library, Waldron District Library, and White Pigeon Library are offering free COVID at home testing kits. How to Reduce Your Risk:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or an Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands

  • Stay away from people who are sick

How to Protect Others:

  • Stay at home while you are sick and keep children out of school or daycare while they are sick.

  • Avoid close contact with others, such as hugging, kissing, or shaking hands.

  • Move away from people before coughing or sneezing.

  • Cough and sneeze into a tissue then throw it away, or cough and sneeze into your upper shirt sleeve, completely covering your mouth and nose.

  • Wash your hands after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.

  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects, such as toys, doorknobs, and mobile devices.

Call 9-1-1 or Seek Emergency Medical Attention if:

  • You have trouble breathing

  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

  • Inability to stay awake

  • Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds
