In June 2019, the MDHHS Public Health Administration launched a 15-month State Health Assessment (SHA) process designed to determine how healthy residents are, what health conditions cause the greatest challenges, what factors contribute to those challenges, and what existing resources can be mobilized to address the health needs within the state. The SHA findings will form the basis of a health improvement plan for the entire public health system in Michigan to tackle priority needs.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this work is still in process.
