Each county's Commission On Aging serves as the focal point for services and activities for older adults. Please feel free to contact the office via email or telephone for a monthly schedule.
Services:
Guest speakers on a variety of topics: health, wellness, legal matters, community events, and many more!
Education opportunities
Music: playing instruments, bands, and dancing
Information & Assistance is provided on any senior related topic including information on Medicare/Medicaid and EPIC (Michigan's prescription medication program)
Transportation: escort services to doctor appointments, and trips (day & overnight)
Arts & Crafts: painting, quilting, wood shop, and ceramics
Health & Wellness workshops and Exercise Room
Card playing & games
Tax assistance
Home Care Assistance: help with bathing, dressing, shopping, house cleaning, laundry, etc.
Respite Care: aide stays with elder so caregiver can have free time
Volunteer opportunities
Chore: help with shoveling, lawn care, raking, etc.
Caregiver support programs: training events, resource library materials, support group activities.
Home Delivered & Congregate Meals (provided by COA in St. Joseph county, and by the Community Action Agency in Branch county)
