FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Area Agency on Aging Requesting Community Input

Coldwater, MI - The Branch-St. Joseph Area Agency on Aging IIIC (AAA IIIC), one of Michigan’s 16 designated Area Agencies on Aging, is responsible for identifying needs, providing comprehensive information and assistance/referral services, and assuring that a full array of services and supports is available to older adults and families across Branch and St. Joseph counties.

Every three years the Area Agency on Aging IIIC prepares a Multi-Year Area Plan.  This plan spells out the needs of older adults and sets priorities for funding and services. Currently, AAA IIIC is seeking input from Branch and St. Joseph County residents, service participants, caregivers, and community leaders.  According to Laura Sutter, Director, “If you are an older adult, the caregiver of an older adult, or have an interest in sharing your perspective as an advocate or professional, we want to hear from you!  The feedback we receive will be used to help us target federal and state resources as well as develop and improve upon services that are available in our planning & service area.”

AAA IIIC has posted an online survey, which takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed by going to:  https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/8786440/Branch-St-Joseph-Area-Agency-on-Aging-IIIC-Community-Needs-Survey

You can also access the survey tool through the health department’s website at www.bhsj.org and clicking on the banner.

The agency will also host 4 community input sessions for residents to attend. These sessions will give participants the opportunity to share their needs and experiences, and to complete a paper survey.
