There has been an increase in the number of reported cases of respiratory illnesses (including Flu and COVID-19) in the BHSJ areas
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has seen an increase in the number of reported cases of respiratory illnesses, including Flu and COVID-19, the previous two weeks. Statewide surveillance shows Michigan’s Influenza activity this previous week is “High”, but it is not too late to get vaccinated to reduce your risk of severe illness or hospitalization.
“We encourage everyone 6 months and older to get the flu shot as a simple way to protect yourself and help keep those around you healthy. If you have questions or concerns, talk with your provider or call our office to discuss,” says Dr. Karen Luparello, Medical Director. “Vaccines for Flu, COVID, Pertussis (whooping cough), Pneumonia, and RSV are widely available within our communities including local pharmacies, physician offices, and at your local health department office.”
