Pfizer Booster Doses Now Available

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency is offering Pfizer vaccine booster doses to residents who previously received two doses of Pfizer vaccine and meet the additional criteria
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency is offering Pfizer vaccine booster doses to residents who previously received two doses of Pfizer vaccine, with the second dose being at least 6 months ago, and who meet at least 1 (one) of the following criteria:

An individual who is age 65 or older

An individual who is age 18 or older with underlying medical conditions identified by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)

An individual who is age 18 or older who lives in a high-risk setting, considering their individual risks and benefits.

An individual who is age 18 or older who works in a high-risk setting, considering their individual risks and benefits. These settings include:
- First responders
- Education staff
- Food and agricultural workers
- Manufacturing workers
- Corrections workers
- U.S. Postal Service workers
- Public transit workers
- Grocery store workers
“Individuals who received Moderna or J&J/Janssen shots should not seek a Pfizer booster dose. The FDA and CDC will be giving additional direction as to when those booster shots will be needed.”, says Dr. Karen Luparello, Medical Director. “The community will be notified when Moderna and J&J/Janssen booster doses are authorized.”
“Vaccination gives us our best protection strategy against severe COVID illness and death,” says Rebecca Burns, Health Officer. “We have been working to make COVID vaccination as easy as possible. Vaccine is widely available at doctor’s offices and pharmacies so please get vaccinated or your booster dose wherever is most convenient for you.”
The agency will be hosting larger scale community booster clinics in the coming weeks. In order to schedule your booster dose at one of our local offices, please go to bhsj.org/scheduling. Our clinics this week will be Wednesday, October 6th in Coldwater from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 7th in Three Rivers from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 9th in Hillsdale from 9:00 a.m. – Noon.
