Michigan to Text Message Parents and Caregivers of Children
Thursday August 12, 2021
Notifying parents of the availability of vaccines in their area.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) will be sending a text message to a publicly available list of parents or caregivers who likely have vaccine-eligible children in their household. This text message will be sent starting Thursday, August 12, 2021. “As we prepare for the opening of schools across the tri-county area, we encourage everyone to consider vaccination. If you have questions, please contact your physician or call your local health department and speak to one of our clinical team members.” said Rebecca Burns, Health Officer.
The message will clearly identify the sender as “the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.” People have the option to opt out by replying “STOP” to any of the messages at any time.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency encourages all residents who desire vaccination to respond to the text message or visit our website, www.bhsj.org, where they can make an appointment for upcoming vaccination clinics. Additionally, the mobile unit is available to come to your location, business or event. To schedule the mobile clinic, call 517-279-9561 ext. 101.
