Monday August 27, 2018
The Michigan PFAS Action Response Team has announced plans to conduct a statewide study of PFAS levels in public water supplies.
The Michigan PFAS Action Response Team (MPART) has announced plans to conduct a statewide study of per- and polyfluorolalkyl (PFAS) levels in public water supplies. The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality will administer the PFAS study of public water supplies. The study will include schools that operate their own water supply. Although private water supplies are not included in the scope of the study, information on testing and filtering options can be found at: https://www.michigan.gov/PFASresponse
For information on what the study has found in our local communities, contact the Environmental Health section of the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency. As of June 1, 2018, there are no known areas of PFAS contamination in Branch, Hillsdale, or St. Joseph counties.
