Health & Wellness Classes and Programs

The classes and programs listed here are evidence based and funded through multiple sources including the Older Americanís Act, Older Michiganianís Act, and Michigan Health Endowment Fund.  These classes and programs are based on research and provide documented health benefits. The AAA monitors these programs in accordance with policies & procedures established by the Michigan Aging and Adult Services Agency.

             Benefits to Older Adults:

  • Improved quality of life.

  • Increased self-efficacy in managing oneís health.

  • Increased or maintained independence, positive health behaviors, or mobility.

  • Reduced disability (fewer falls, later onset or fewer years of disability, etc.)

  • Reduced pain

  • Improved mental health (including delays in loss of cognitive function and positive effects on depressive symptoms)
